How SKM honors Selfcare
Sometimes it’s best just to disconnect and do something to help you relax. I know you all have been hearing about self-care, but how many of us actually practice this? Self-care does not have to be anything extraordinary, it is a time that you should simply dedicate to feeding your mind, body and soul. I try to indulge in some self-care at least once a week. A typical self-care day for me is cleaning my room, followed by burning some candles, while dancing in my room with a clay mask on. Self-care does not have to be a one day “event”. Some daily self-care practices include:
detaching yourself from your phone during certain hours of the day (we all know how social media can take over our lives)
doing 30 mins of exercise
getting to know yourself intimately
Writing out your thoughts
Mini meditation session(s)
Have a good laugh
Create a home spa session
Read a good book
These are just a few of many practices you can do as a form of self care. In a world where there’s always so much chaos, taking care of yourself becomes a difficult task. I challenge you to start practicing self-care at least once a week. Stay beautiful!
